Representative Jesse Young - 26th Legislative District
State Representative Jesse Young is the senior elected delegate from the 26th legislative district. He was bipartisanly and unanimously appointed in 2014 and has since been reelected four times by voters.
Jesse, and his wife Jennifer, have been married for over 22 years and have lived in Gig Harbor for over 20. They have 6 children ranging from 18 years old to 2 years old. As the legislature is a part-time position, Jesse maintains a software engineering company providing technology consulting services in the areas of Healthcare and Finance.
Most of you probably know Jesse’s story: An impoverished childhood that included periods of homelessness, just across the bridge in Tacoma. Jesse overcame that adversity by graduating as valedictorian from Woodrow Wilson HS and being named a Proctor & Gamble National Science award winner and a Washington State Scholar in 1995. He then attended and graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Business and Technology.
Rep. Young maintains an active workload in Olympia, serving on three committees.
