  • 2025 Chamber Advocacy

We are at the table so you can focus on your business.

  • The 2025 session kept us busy. There were a number of bills we worked with our elected officials to keep from moving forward. Unfortunately, there were many bills that did move forward and will have an impact on businesses. We continue to monitor the tax bills closely and have made the impacts of them known. Below are several letters that we signed on to either in support or opposition. In addition, our Government Relations Committee (GRC) has actively tracked all the bills this session and you will find the work below as well. If there is a specific bill you want to better understand, GRC member Gary Parker, is willing to help you out.

  • Big Beautiful Bill - A Breakdown for Business Owners

The Big Beautiful Bill (BBB), recently introduced, brings sweeping changes that could significantly impact businesses of all sizes, especially small businesses, startups, and industry-specific sectors.

To help business owners and professionals navigate this complex piece of legislation, Gary Parker of 3rd Act Consulting has developed an independent breakdown of the BBB—transforming the lengthy and technical bill into a clear, layman-friendly, and searchable PDF document.

    How to Use the Document

    1. Search Smart – The bill may refer to the same business concepts in multiple ways. For example, small businesses may also be labeled as “qualified small businesses (QSBS).”

    2. Tailor Your Search – Look up terms specific to your industry or tax strategy (e.g., “investment credit,” “R&D,” “pass-through entities”).

    3. Stay Informed, Not Overwhelmed – Use this tool as your first step in understanding the law before consulting with professionals.

This document is an independent summary and interpretive overview of the legislative text commonly referred to as the "Big Beautiful Bill." It is provided for general informational and reference purposes only. While every effort has been made to accurately reflect the content of the law, this summary is not a substitute for the full legislative text, and does not constitute legal, financial, tax, or professional advice.
Readers are strongly encouraged to consult a licensed attorney, certified public accountant, or qualified financial advisor for personalized guidance or analysis related to their specific circumstances.
