In October, we're featuring works by watercolor and mixed media artist Mary Schumaker in our Gig Harbor Tasting Room.
Mary's dynamic style projects energy and vibrancy. In her words, "As a watercolor and mixed media artist in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, I am surrounded by a bounty of inspiration. I enjoy the sense of connection to my work as I listen and respond to the moment of inspiration. I often begin with a preconceived image of the final piece, only to find that as the subject emerges, the painting takes on a voice of its own. At other times, the mediums introduce new pathways, and the painting becomes more expressive of my emotions. The interplay of the design elements and principles is my voice to communicate to the viewer. The viewer's experience is the final part of the artistic effort."
On Thursday, October 8, we're hosting a reception to celebrate Mary and invite the community in to meet the artist and explore her work. Light snacks will be provided, and wine, beer, and nonalcoholic beverages will be available for purchase.
