[Gig Harbor, WA – October 4, 2021] The Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is pleased to announce its new President/CEO, Miriam Battson. When it came time for a national search, the best candidate happened to be from within.
As the previous Membership Development Director, Miriam built strong community relationships and continued to help add to the stability of membership in the Chamber. “Miriam is a long-term resident with a heart for the business community and a pleasure to work with,” Keith W. Page, Chamber Board Chair.
Miriam takes over a financially strong and stable Chamber, from the previous President, Warren Zimmerman who recently relocated to a warmer climate. “It is an honor to take over the helm of this wonderful organization. We will continue to focus on maintaining a strong economy and inclusive community for businesses in the greater Gig Harbor/Key Peninsula area. I have an open-door policy and look forward continuing to connect with our local businesses”, per Battson.
Battson has a history in marketing, business development, business consulting, management, government relations and more. She raised her son Chance here in Gig Harbor, and is married to Richard Battson who works for St. Francis Hospital.
Founded in 1980, the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce has been serving the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula area as business advocates for a vibrant economy and inclusive community. The chamber’s mission is to take a strong leadership position for business and community interests that encourages diverse economic opportunities. This is done by bringing together leaders from businesses, government, nonprofits, and education to address the issues and needs of our community.
