Our Prosecutor Mark Lindquist was appointed in 2009 by a bipartisan and unanimous vote of the County Council. He was elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
A career prosecutor with more than 20 years in the office, Mark has tried numerous cases, including the Tacoma Mall shooting, the murder of cab driver Mohamud Ahmed, and the rape and murder of special Olympian Kimmie Daly.
Mark is committed to keeping our community safe with vigorous and innovative initiatives. These successful initiatives include the new High Priority Offender Program, which focuses resources on career criminals, the Elder Abuse Unit, the Gang Unit, and the fight for fair share so Pierce County isn’t a dumping ground for offenders from other counties.
Mark is active in our community. He serves on the Tacoma Community College Foundation Board and the City Club Board, belongs to Rotary 8, and is a former Chair of the United Way campaign.
Additionally, Mark is a nationally acclaimed author. His four published novels include two Northwest bestsellers. He has written for numerous publications, including The New York Times Book Review, The Los Angeles Times Book Review, The Oregonian, The Seattle Times, The Tacoma Weekly, and other publications.
Mark lives in Tacoma with his wife Chelsea and their daughter.
