The Peninsula Metropolitan Park District (PenMet Parks) is elated to be offering the inaugural Women’s Wellness Expo presented by MultiCare.
The transformative and free event will be held at Sehmel Homestead Park on July 13, 2019 from 8:30am - 4:00pm. The event is open to ages 16+. Wellness workshops, fitness classes such as goat yoga, local entertainment, food trucks, and a 7 Seas Brewing beer garden make the Women’s Wellness Expo unlike any other women’s event around.
Q13 Fox anchor, Ellen Tailor, will be hosting the event as MC while the Seattle Storm Dance Troupe will be on hand for the opening ceremony to get the party started. Local talent, and recent American Idol contestant, Ruthie Craft will be headlining the entertainment schedule with familiar melodies and lovable originals. Kyra Wiens, local pro triathlete, will be delivering the keynote address: “The Fast-Track to Becoming Your Best Self: Why Women and Girls Should Be in Sports.”
“The mission of the event is to support and empower women through all aspects of holistic wellness; not just physical and nutritional, but also financial, spiritual, and emotional. Organic opportunities for authentic networking and community building are at the heart of this event as well,” proclaims Jenna Brasch, co-founder of the PenMet Women’s Wellness Expo.
Authentic networking sessions allow for informal and meaningful connections between attendees with similar interests. Some sessions being offered include “What I Would Tell My Younger Self: Wisdom From Our Seniors” and “Female Entrepreneurs: How to Stand Out in a Crowded Market.”
A 50/50 raffle to give back to the community will be held to benefit local non-profit, Terry’s House.
This therapeutic, residential program provides rest, recovery, and rehabilitation for young women aged 18-25 who have survived sexual exploitation.
“What started as an idea between two friends one year ago has quickly grown into a fully sponsored event. The support that we have received from this community and local businesses has been nothing short of amazing for a first-year event,” explained co-founder Carrianne Ekberg. “It is this support that has allowed us to bring our vision to fruition in order to better empower women in their own health journeys.”
