Name: Lakewold Gardens - Music From Home
    Date: June 5, 2022
    Time: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM PDT
    Event Description:
On June 5th, soprano Ellaina Lewis and youth pianist Calder Failla will perform the upcoming Music From Home program, "Inner Songs," spotlighting selected works by contemporary composer Richard Thompson and Florence Price, ending with "How Much Longer?" written by Del'Shawn Taylor in Memoriam of five slain Black lives. Through stirring operatic vocals and jazz-influenced instrumentation, Lewis and Failla will give musical voice to the poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar and then to countless lives lost to violent injustice, including that of 18-year-old cellist and rising star Mouhamed Cisse. The audience will also have the opportunity to meet special guest, composer Richard Thompson himself, and during intermission will be treated to dessert made by Lupita Creates provided by our Food From Home sponsor. You can be sure this concert, like the two before it, will be unlike any other. You can see all of our upcoming concerts and get tickets by visiting our Music From Home page.
